• All members of the moral community are subject to moral consideration

• 2 types of Members

  • Moral patient

    • Have the capacity to experience ethical spectrum

    • e.g., a human being

  • Moral mean

    • Don't have the capacity to experience ethical spectrum

    • Have the capacity to affect moral patients

    • assumably e.g., a stone

  • All existence is within the moral community due to causal interdependence
